Top Ugandan footballer killed by robbers armed with paving stones

The Ugandan football community is in deep mourning following the tragic death of national team player David Owori. Owori, who also served as captain for Sports Club Villa, a prominent Uganda Premier League club, passed away after being fatally injured during a robbery attempt in the capital city, Kampala, on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred near his home in the Makindye division. Reports indicate that David Owori was attacked when he was resisting an attempt by robbers to steal his mobile phone and other personal belongings. The attack resulted in serious injuries, and he was rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite efforts to save him, he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
