Why there's a debate over the new quarantine center for Americans at risk of Ebola

In Kenya, people are upset about a new Ebola center. The U.S. is building this place in Nanyuki, a town far from the capital. This center is for Americans who might have the Ebola virus. These Americans come from countries like Congo where Ebola is spreading. The U.S. wants to check them there to stop the virus from entering America.

Many Kenyans do not like this idea. They worry the center will bring Ebola to Kenya. They also say their government does not tell them enough about it. People have had protest marches against the center. Police have used tear gas on them, and some people even died in a protest last week.

Kenya's President says he agrees with the U.S. plan. He says it is a partnership. But a court in Kenya has said the center should not be built. Some health experts also think this plan is not good. They say it makes people angry and does not truly make America safer. The U.S. says no one has used the center yet.
