The U.S. adds 172,000 jobs. Many are in restaurants, bars and hotels

The U.S. economy adds many new jobs. In May, 172,000 new jobs appear. This is a good sign for the country. Many of these new jobs are in places like restaurants, bars, and hotels. Restaurants and bars alone add 48,000 jobs. The whole hotel and travel industry adds 70,000 jobs. This is because people plan to go out more in summer.

Other places also get new workers. Local government and healthcare get more jobs too. Healthcare always adds jobs, and it adds 35,000 in May. But some parts of the economy lose jobs. Banks and insurance companies cut 22,000 jobs. So, some areas grow, and some get smaller.

The job market is getting steady. For three months in a row, the U.S. adds many jobs. The unemployment rate stays at 4.3%, which is low. People's pay also goes up, but only a little bit. Prices for things are going up fast. So, people's money does not buy as much as before. The government wants to stop prices from rising so quickly.
