Developing countries spend more repaying foreign debt than on education, UN reveals

Many poor countries spend more money on paying back old loans than on schools. This is what a new report from the UN says. The UN's culture and education agency, Unesco, made this report. It says that 113 countries spend more on their debt than on helping children learn.

For example, in parts of Africa, countries pay 3.6 times more money for debt than for education. Some countries even pay five times more for loans. This means children do not get enough money for their schools and teachers.

Also, the UN thinks that money given to schools around the world will go down. It might go down by 30%. This makes the problem even bigger. Children in these countries need more support, but they get less because of old debts.
