Why has the Netherlands moved $10bn of its gold from the US?

The Netherlands has a lot of gold. It owns gold worth about $83.7 billion. This gold is kept in different places. Some is in the Netherlands, and some is in other countries. For a long time, much of the gold was in the United States, in New York.

Recently, the Netherlands decided to move some of its gold. They moved $10 billion worth of gold from the United States back to their own country. This means a big part of their gold is now at home. They want to keep it in their own vaults.

Why do they do this? They want their gold to be very safe and close to them. It helps people in the Netherlands feel good knowing their country's gold is at home. Many countries do this to have more control over their valuable things.
